Joan Leong
Joan Leong is a seasoned media professional with more than 20 years’ experience shaping compelling stories across print, broadcast and digital platforms. She began her career as a photojournalist before moving into television production, delivering high-impact formats for series such as The Amazing Race (Asia, Australia, Israel, Philippines), Cash Cab Asia, Asia’s Next Top Model and The Kings.
Previously, as Head of Channel 5 Commissioning at Mediacorp, Joan steered programming strategy and greenlit original series that strengthened the channel’s editorial voice and audience reach. More recently, she has led branded-content initiatives for CNA, Bloomberg and The New York Times, designing integrated campaigns that uphold editorial integrity while achieving commercial goals.
She is currently directing a longitudinal project in Ghana that follows individuals and communities positively impacted by sustainability interventions, combining documentary storytelling with impact evaluation to inform both audiences and practitioners.
