Driven by a deep passion for East Asian and international cinema, Cathy Ni has built a dynamic career spanning production, finance, and distribution. She began her journey working with acclaimed writer-director Han Han (The Continent, Pegasus, Only Fools Rush In), whose films have collectively grossed over 2 billion RMB at the Chinese box office.

Cathy has also collaborated with Dadi Cinema, one of China’s largest and most profitable exhibition chains, and Blue Box Financing, where she expanded her expertise in international film finance. Her past contributions include notable titles such as Only Fools Rush In, Tiger Mom, 40 Acres, and Kill or Be Killed.

At EST N8, Cathy oversees the global sales of more than 40 titles, distributing to over 100 countries worldwide. Her slate includes Dear Stranger starring Hidetoshi Nishijima (Drive My Car); Rotterdam 2026 selection The Hole; MD Pictures’ tentpole and 2025 box office No.1 Pabrik Gula by Awi Suryadi (director of Indonesia’s highest-grossing film of all time), for which Cathy also led the North American theatrical release; Netflix’s No.1 Non-English Film and Malaysian box office No.1 Action Blood Brothers; Kongkiat Komesiri’s Thai thriller Delivery Man; Fantasia Best Director Award-winning Korean action film Mash Ville; the Gijón International Film Festival Youth Jury Award-winning Japanese fantasy River Returns, etc.
