The Rise of Coproduction With & Within Asia
ATF 2025 starts to see greater growth in this realm across buyers and participants
Covid-19 had a negative impact on international coproductions involving Asia, causing a significant drop in 2023. However, Glance, provider of Content and Audience Insights for global media professionals in the television and media industries, observed that the first half of 2025 saw the highest number of coproductions in both originals and adaptations since 2022, with Entertainment nearly doubling compared to 2024.

On the other hand, coproductions between Asia and non-Asian countries surged between 2024 and H1 2025, with Entertainment showing a notable increase in this specific context.
