Barbara Lee is the Founder of the Vancouver Asian Film Festival (VAFF), Racial Equity Screen Office, Elimin8hate, MAMM and the creator of East by Northwest (EXNW) Global Creative Summit.  She has spent over twenty-five years advocating and organizing events to increase opportunities for Canadian Asian and racialized artists in the screen industry.  She received the Radio Television News Director Award as a broadcast journalist and also produces, writes and directs. Her documentary BETWEEN THE LAUGHTER was produced by the National Film Board of Canada and aired on CBC and PBS Northwest.
