Shugo Praico (Writer/Director of Drug War: A Conspiracy of Silence), is known for his acclaimed screenplays, including Awaken (2005), Noy (2010), Bonifacio: Unang Pangulo (2014), and Expressway (2016), which have garnered both local and international recognition. Known for crafting gritty and socially relevant dramas, Shugo wrote and directed the much awaited international series, The Bagman, premiering in 2025. He is currently in post-production for the eco-horror feature film, The Caretakers.

His diverse portfolio also includes directing the LGBTQIA+ rom-com BetCin (2021) and the thriller Nanahimik Ang Gabi (2022), both of which received national honors at the 2023 Asian Academy Creative Awards and Metro Manila Film Festival. In 2024, Shugo served as a jury member at the prestigious Asian Academy Creative Awards.
