Hou Xiaonan currently serves as Chief Executive Officer and President of Yuewen, as well as Vice President of Tencent’s Platform and Content Group.

Hou joined Tencent in 2003 and has held various management positions in businesses including Mobile QQ, Qzone, Tencent Open Platform, YingYongBao, Qingteng and Penguin Media Content Platform, playing a key role in Tencent’s open ecosystem strategy. He has extensive and in-depth management experience in product operations, business model innovation and ecosystem cooperation.

He led the planning and development of the Tencent Open Platform from its earliest stages. Since 2011, he has overseen the development of the Tencent "Wuchuang", a system to support entrepreneurship that includes Qingteng, Tencent WeStart, the Tencent Open Platform Interest-based Content Fund and the Double-Hundred Entrepreneurial Investment Plan, spearheading the creation of a new online-to-offline Internet entrepreneurship ecosystem. Since its establishment, the Tencent Open Platform has connected with 10 million partners nationwide, incubated 40 listed companies, created 25 million job opportunities and generated RMB90 billion in economic value.

Since 2014, Hou has been responsible for developing the product platform and commercialization strategy of YingYongBao. He led YingYongBao’s transformation towards third-party app distribution as a core product in Tencent’s mobile open ecosystem strategy. During his tenure, YingYongBao maintained the top market share in the industry for five consecutive years, becoming China's largest Android app distribution platform. 

Since 2017, he has assumed full responsibility for the Penguin Media Content Platform, building a company-level digital content open platform that encompasses products, technology, operations, data and collaboration, and pushing Tencent's content ecosystem towards full openness for the first time.

Since 2019, he has been responsible for building Tencent's strategic ecosystem cooperation platform, leading the team to establish a strategic cooperation system with partners including mobile network operators and mobile phone manufacturers.

In April 2020, he was appointed as President of Yuewen, where he led the development of the " Yuewen Plus" strategy and championed the upgrade of the company's mission and vision. With the core management team, he led the establishment of a content ecosystem balancing the development of paid and free reading content, strengthened the growth of core products, and deepened the operation of the IP ecosystem with continuous release of blockbusters in multiple formats including online literature, comics and animation, film and television series, games and merchandise.

In July 2022, he was appointed as General Manager of the Tencent Animation and Comics, fully responsible for managing the business and teams.

In May 2023, he was appointed as CEO and President of Yuewen.
