English/Vietnamese, with a Masters in Classical Arabic, Francis trained as a BBC documentary filmmaker specializing in conflict zones before founding boutique prod-co IFA in Singapore. Director, writer and showrunner, Francis’ work includes Peabody winning feature doc, A Year in The Clouds and the Golden Bell winning dramas, The Teenage Psychic for HBO Asia and Nowhere Man for Netflix. 2024 project the Singapore/Thailand co-pro period horror Operation Undead, recently sold to 86 countries. Francis oversees IFA’s investment and co-production for its offices in Bangkok, Beijing, Singapore, Taipei and Dunedin, New Zealand.

Over the last decade, IFA has successfully put together projects with a wide range of partners, acting as an investor, accessing offset schemes and structuring co-investment deals with state partners, platforms and private investors, including IMDA, CICC, ARTE, New Zealand Film Commission, HBO Asia, PTS, NHK, FR5, TAICCA, National Geographic, Gala TV, K-Movie, Studio 76 and BHD Vietnam amongst others.
