Independent Producer

Dan Truong is a seasoned professional with over 20 years of experience in film finance, business development, and acquisitions. He is currently an independent producer focused on bringing Southeast Asian stories, particularly from Vietnam, to global audiences. Previously, Dan led US Movie Licensing at Amazon Prime Video and was head of independent film acquisitions at Prime Video Direct. He also served as Head of Strategy, Film & TV at The Orchard, where he acquired Oscar-nominated films Cartel Land and Life, Animated. He started his career at Focus Features and was part of the founding team of the studio’s digital-first distribution initiative Focus World. Dan holds a BS and MBA from NYU’s Stern School of Business.
