Carlene Tan
As part of the new Factual & Animation Production Unit, Carlene Tan leads the team that identifies new IP and produces original content for Warner Bros. Discovery’s animation brands across Greater China and Southeast Asia as well as the Kids and Family brands in Asia Pacific. Her responsibilities include greenlighting series for Cartoon Network, Cartoonito, Boomerang, Discovery Kids and POGO, as well as for the regional streaming service HBO GO in Southeast Asia and discovery+ in India. Including the support of Creative Solutions, co-production and partnership team regionally.
Based in Singapore, she has produced the region’s current slate of APAC originals that include the International Emmy-nominated Lamput – which is available on HBO Max and Cartoon Network globally and the very first regional adaption of Tom and Jerry for the Asia Pacific region. Prior to Warner Bros. Discovery, Carlene developed original animation with Disney in Southeast Asia and was responsible for the Mickey Go Local series featuring Mickey and Friends in Southeast Asia. Before that she was the studio head at One Animation where she produced Oddbods and Insectibles.
Together with one of the founders of DreamWorks Animation, she also managed the Singapore arm of Cloudpic Global and produced various digital projects for mobile apps launched across Asia. She was also one of the founding members of Singapore’s first animation studio, Peach Blossom Media.
