Clément Schwebig is the Managing Director of WarnerMedia for India, Southeast Asia and Korea, leading all operations for its entertainment networks and Warner Bros. businesses in these regions.
His portfolio of regional channel brands includes HBO, Cartoon Network, Boomerang, Oh!K and Warner TV in Southeast Asia, POGO in India, and the distribution of CNN International. He also oversees advertising across all kids and entertainment channels and platforms, and the production of all entertainment original content in the region. He is responsible for theatrical distribution of Warner Bros. films, Home Entertainment and TV distribution, as well as consumer products and licensing for WarnerMedia’s key franchises including DC.
Clément joined Turner (now WarnerMedia) in 2013 as Asia Pacific SVP of Business Development, based in Hong Kong, tasked with leading M&A and growing new revenue streams. As part of his remit, he also oversaw the growth of Cartoon Network’s consumer products and licensing division, building a digital business around gaming, and its Location Based Entertainment business. In 2015, he added the role of Managing Director of China and, in 2018, the responsibility of CFO for Asia Pacific.
In 2019, based in Singapore, he was promoted to Managing Director for WarnerMedia Entertainment Networks for Southeast Asia, China and Australia. He led the re-organisation of the group – uniting the legacy HBO and Turner businesses – as well as ramping up investment in HBO Asia Originals. He also led the growth of the streaming service HBO GO in Southeast Asia across 8 territories in the region.
Prior to that, he spent more than a decade managing TV operations at RTL Group (Europe’s leading broadcaster) in Europe and Asia. First as Chief Operating Officer of RTL Televizija (Croatia) and Alpha Media Group (Greece), and then as Senior Vice President of International TV Operations, based in Mumbai.
Clément holds a master’s degree in management from HEC, and a master’s in corporate law from La Sorbonne. He is a board member of POPS Worldwide (a leading MCN in Asia) and Chairman of the Asia Video Industry Association (AVIA).
