The inevitable has arrived. TV viewership numbers are plummeting, whilst new media platforms are increasing at an alarming rate. Traditional media platforms are now molded to conform to the needs of new media platforms, but there are inherent legal issues to deal with. On the other hand, content creators are exploiting new media platforms for their highly interactive and adaptive capabilities to enrich user experience. The result is a distinct wedge between both worlds, forcing viewers with a mutually-exclusive choice. To some, the digital age brings the goal of global content distribution closer.
